South Africa were struggling to get going in Kanpur. In stepped AB de Villiers and his unbeaten 21st century helped South Africa become the first team to go past 300 in Kanpur. Rohit Sharma led a strong response and his 149-run stand with Ajinkya Rahane kept India in the hunt. Some disciplined bowling kept India in check and Rohit's 150 helped India come close.
